What is Guatemala Like?
The last month or so I have been mulling over the question, " What is Guatemala like?" I was asked that a couple times and each time I paused not knowing what to say. I still don't I have an answer. To those of you that have answers, please help me. :)
Tomorrow, we are taking one of the missionary lady's and her visitors to the ocean. We get asked to do some these things from time to time. Right now, I don't care. Once I see these places 5 times, I might. Until the 5th time to each of the attractions in Guatemala, I will enjoy my time.
Tristan and I needed to renew our visas so we visited some friends in Belize. We enjoyed our time and being able to catch up on each others lives. We ladies grabbed some amazing coffee one afternoon and then helped the men clean buses that were sold or going be listed to sell.

The other week I was preparing for company. I had mopped my porch and sat down to wait for it to dry. I look up and there was my neighbor lady. She had a bowl with water mixed with laundry soap and her broom with a T-shirt over the bottom of it. She proceeds to mop my entire floor while I watch. She wanted me to know how to actually mop. I wanted to laugh the entire time. My floor was very clean and shiny after the two washes. In case you wonder if our relationship is still in place, yes, it is. We have a very solid Google Translate relationship.
Several of you have asked if my baking has improved. Yes, in fact it has. I switched my flour and that resolved that issue. Between that and finding better margarine we are eating pastries and no longer weighing ourselves. Okay, part that was a joke and you may figure out which is.
After being sick on the stomach for three weeks, I am now feeling better and ever so grateful. I was beginning to think it'd just be my thorn in the flesh. I am thankful it isn't after all.
We are in the middle of dry season. Smoke is hanging in the air from everyone burning leaves and cleaning up there yards. We are drinking water like camels and sweating like pigs. Ironically, we are still drinking hot coffee.
We are having some issues with our neighbor stealing things from us. Tristan asked me why his things are always getting stolen and not mine. I concluded it's because I own trash. Who would want to steal a book written in English? Or a plant? Or dirty laundry?
One the latest finds in my town is a lovely park not more than 5 minutes by Tuk Tuk. It is quiet and has lots of shade. I can't believe the gem I have so near me.

I must finish getting ready for our company.
Till next time,
Adios!
